They are so petite that I have often referred to them as Malibu Christie and Malibu Skipper. They wear like size zero or some shit like that. Ebony and Ivory, they are both kick ass little firecrackers. You haven't lived until Jaime has said, "Fuck you mother fucker" to you with a cigarette in one hand and a Mountain Dew in the other. It's comedy.
You already know about Lolita.

Monday, April 26, 2004your questions answered
It looks like I've gotten all the questions I'm going to get, so without further ado, here are the answers:
from lashundra:
1. what is your favorite color?
My favorite color is blue. Mostly the lighter shades of blue, but if you look in my closet you will see that the majority of the stuff I buy comes in varying shades of blue.
2. what qualities do you look for in a guy?
I like honesty and someone that makes me laugh. I like a good-looking guy and one that can appreciate my book wormish tendencies.
3. what is your fetish?
Shopping. I love shoes, handbags, clothes and m.a.c. cosmetics. I'm happiest when I'm spending money on me I think.
from afanee or antonio, I really couldn't tell:
1. In a world where technology brings everything to ones fingertips, why is it important to establish "real" relationships and experiences?
Because as humans, we want to have that personal contact. Besides, you can surf the net all you want, but nothing can take the place of being able to speak from personal experience. It's sorta like the difference between having someone tell you the funny part of a movie and having seen that funny part yourself.
2. What’s more important in being with a man? Him never had children or never had a wife?
I don't really place an importance on either of those two things because the older I get the less likely it is that I'm going to find someone my age that has not had one or the other of those. I don't like baby mama drama though, so if I can avoid dudes with that issue I do.
3. If there were a choice between right and wrong, and doing the right thing goes against all you believe in and doing wrong yields everything you dreamed of, what would make you finalize your decision?
Karma. How much bad karma would I get from doing the bad thing versus generating good karma from doing the right thing. It always comes down to karma I guess.
from raven:
1) How long have you and Nakachi been friends?
The story of me and Nakachi meeting is actually pretty funny. I knew her blog before I knew her. Last summer I was at a poetry reading and me and this beautiful sister with gorgeous, unruly naps (y'all should have seen her hair before she started locking it; her naps formed themselves into these tight ass spiraled coils that I've seen women spend $70 on a strawset just to have that look and hers did it naturally) were trading jokes all night about various lines in the poems of other poets. When it came to be her time to read, they called the name Nakachi. Now, that is not a common name like say Keisha or LaTanya or something like that so before she could get to the stage I stopped her and asked her if she had a blog and she said yes and I told her that I was coffeenated and we were all "Hey girl! what's up!" and it was totally her turn to read so we were kinda holding up the reading having a blog family reunion.
We kept emailing each other and saying we were going to get together, but I didn't see her for another 2 or 3 months and when I saw her at the reading she hosts, we just hit it off again and we've been rolling tight ever since.
So, to answer your question, it's been less than a year actually. It doesn't seem like it though.
2) Is Sallie Mae pretty?
Okay, she's not beasty or anything, but if he was gonna go out and get a white girl it didn't have to be some okie ass corn-fed broad from Ohio. In my opinion she is not cute. Her hair is thinning at the top, she has a square shape and she is really insecure which only makes you notice more that she ain't cute. Plus it annoys me that sometimes she gets this black girl to braid her hair in two french braids with the straight up 8th grade zig zag part down the middle.
3) If you had the power to change one thing about yourself or your life situation in an instant what would it be and why?
I would be financially independent. Have financial independence would allow me to do all the other things that I am interested in.
from antonio (i think he cheated, plus he asked 4!)
1. What's the biggest mistake you've made in life that's been your greatest lesson learned?
Living to please my parents instead of myself. Going back to school this time around has made me realize all the time I wasted before trying to live up to someone else's standards. If I had all that time back, I'd do it differently.
2. When was the last time you thought you had nothing left to give, but you dug deeper and you still gave more?
With my cousin's kids. When everyone in the family was through with her, I still kept trying to give her chances because I knew that's what she needed. She pisses me off continuously and leaves me with the fuck it attitude, but I know her kids deserve better.
3. Name the book | person | moment | place that changed your life - and why.
Losing my favorite Aunt to breast cancer before she reached her 40th birthday made me realize that life is too short for bullshit.
4. If you had to track down one person you haven't spoken to in years just to say [Thank You | I Love You | I'm Sorry] -- Who would that person be?
My ex-boyfriend Sean. I would say Thank you for loving me for me, I STILL love you and I'm sorry I dumped you in a moment of fickleness.
from ej:
1. If you had to change up last week, what would you do differently?
I would have told Pusha to come to me instead of me going to him and he probably wouldn't have been there when the police came.
2. If Monique were a car, what car would she be?
A Cadillac Sedan de Ville with spinners since Nakachi says I put dubs on everything.
3. Name the three songs that pop into your head right now.
It's My Life by Talk Talk
Stand in the Place Where You Live - REM
One Less Bitch - NWA
from brick:
1. What do you hope to accomplish with your degree?
I plan to go to graduate school and get an MFA in creative writing. I'll also teach.
2. Would you ever marry someone that you met on the internet?
If we hit it off and they weren't crazy or deranged, then yes.
3. Do you think that you will always live on the West Coast?
I don't know if I will always live on the West Coast, but I know that I could never live anywhere where it gets extremely cold or snows. That pretty much narrows it down for me, outside of Florida I guess.

Friday, April 23, 2004too much booty in the pants
via yahoo - file this under "please get a life"
BATON ROUGE, La. - People who wear low-slung pants that expose skin or "intimate clothing" would face a fine of up to $500 and possible jail time under a bill filed by a Jefferson Parish lawmaker.State Rep. Derrick Shepherd said he filed the bill because he was tired of catching glimpses of boxer shorts and G-strings over the lowered belt lines of young adults.
The bill would punish anyone caught wearing low-riding pants with a fine of as much as $500 or as many as six months in jail, or both.
"I'm sick of seeing it," said Shepherd, a first-term legislator. "The community's outraged. And if parents can't do their job, if parents can't regulate what their children wear, then there should be a law."
The bill would be tacked onto the state's obscenity law, which restricts sexual activity in public places and the sale of sexually explicit items.
Joe Cook, head of the American Civil Liberties Union (news - web sites)'s Louisiana chapter, said the bill probably does not meet the U.S. Supreme Court (news - web sites)'s standard for the prohibition of obscene behavior under the First Amendment.
"What about a woman who is wearing a bathing suit under her garment or she has something like a sarong wrapped around her and it's below her waist," he said. "I can think of a lot of workers, plumbers, who are working and expose their buttocks ..."

Thursday, April 22, 2004copying the copycats
So I'm copying off of Anitra, who copied off of EJ, who copied off so many people that I don't have enough room to list them I think.
I want everyone who reads this to ask me 3 questions, no more no less. You may ask me anything (leave your questions in the comments).
Then to go to your journal or weblog, and copy and paste this allowing others (including myself) to ask you anything. Please do a trackback ping (if you have trackback capabilities) so I'll know that you copied it. (If you don't have trackback capabilities, then don't sweat it.)
Answers will be given in a follow-up post.
I'm definitely interested to see what kind of questions I get.
